About Us

Curiosity is at the beginning of all new things: it represents the starting point for successful edu-cational paths, scientific discoveries and technological progress. In Heilbronn and beyond, the Dieter Schwarz Foundation – one of the largest non-profit foundations in Germany – creates the framework for people with courage and curiosity to actively shape social change. In everything we do, we are guided by the fundamental principle of our founder, Dieter Schwarz: “Education is our most valuable raw material.”

Our core mission is to provide access to knowledge at every stage of life – from early childhood education to academic careers. That is why we support programs for families as well as scientific institutions and cutting-edge university research. At the same time, we create a highly innova-tive environment for companies and start-ups. Since our establishment in 1999, we have sup-ported 1,300 institutions and initiatives in the fields of education, research and entrepreneur-ship.

By connecting numerous stakeholders from the worlds of education, science and entrepreneur-ship, we are creating a unique innovation ecosystem at an international science and business center. After all, where courageous people and institutions meet and dare to shape the future together, sustainable ideas for a successful tomorrow are born.

The magazine “Zukünfte” (Futures) was developed in cooperation with the ZEIT Publishing Group. It takes curious readers on a journey through Heilbronn’s innovation ecosystem, where motivat-ed people are creating diverse visions of the future. At the many facilities of the Education Campus, the experimenta Science Center and the Innovation Park Artificial Intelligence (IPAI), they work tirelessly to show how visions become reality. The Dieter Schwarz Foundation whole-heartedly supports this commitment. We invite everyone to join us on the path to the best of all futures.
